Sherlock Landscapes - Over 19 years experience working in both London and Surrey.
Our top jobs for this month

  1. Turfing lawns.
  2. Regularly remove weeds from lawns and paths.
  3. Lift blanketweed out of ponds regularly with a garden rake to stop this form of algae from choking plants and spreading.
  4. Jet wash paths and driveways.
  5. Stain or repaint sheds and fences.
  6. Check shed roofs, refelt where needed.
  7. Remove thatch "moss" from lawns.
  8. Airate lawns.

Many types of insects are eating holes in the leaves of plants this month, giving plants a tattered appearance. Spray or pick off the grubs by hand. Check roses for signs of blackspot, aphids and leaf-rolling sawfly damage. Caterpillars, aphids and other fly pests can all be problematic at this time of year. Early infestations can be managed by hand removal, but approved insecticides are necessary for more serious attacks. Check for damage or cankers on deciduous trees.
